About the Project
Apex Clean Energy is developing Kishwaukee Wind, a proposed wind energy project located in rural Boone County, Illinois. Apex is working with local landowners, community leaders, and various stakeholders to design a project that fits with the community and complements the agricultural heritage of the area.
The project provides an opportunity to help address Illinois' growing electricity demand with clean, homegrown energy, while diversifying Boone County's economy, supporting jobs in the community, and generating a new source of long-term revenue for local governments and landowners.

Participating landowners benefit from annual lease payments that provide stable, predictable income in times of uncertainty and are not dependent on commodity prices, trade policy, or weather conditions. No project is possible without the interest and support of local landowners and all participation is voluntary.
